Job Description

Work Location: Base Office (30 km away from the city centre)
• To maintain the vessels in a fully operational and maintained condition to support the offshore campaign;
• To ensure all vessels operate to the Corporate Marine Standards;
• To liaise with Client and Vessel owners to ensure the Company and Client Marine Standards are met and maintained;
• Maintain liaison with Vessel Owners and Management to ensure the maximum operational efficiency of the contracted vessel;
• Co-ordinate and arrange for vessel modifications as required by projects. Encourage any technical developments or suggestions that will enhance the overall Project or Operational efficiency. Represent the Company during maintenance periods and control all aspects of the maintenance operations;
• Carry out continual monitoring and assessment of vessel operations and advise improvements to the relevant Vessel Manager;
• Make sure that the vessel is in compliance with IMCA guidelines in terms of CMID, FMEA DP trials and all other recommendations arranging relevant audits and following the observations close-out;
• Liaise with contractors or the owner for the monitoring of the vessel certificates renewal, making sure that there are no "Class conditions" or any other limitation that could reduce vessel operation capability;
• Ensure significant maintenance / dry dock periods are properly planned;
• Ensure by organising and co-ordinating dedicated audit inspection, that any vessel planned to be utilised on a given project is fit for purpose with respect to marine/offshore operations;
• Advise on the suitability of possible vessel charters in terms of operational suitability, characteristics, and HSE management system (ISM code);
• Ensure that vessel manning is adequate, and that personnel are suitably qualified and experienced to carry out any intended work scope, and in conjunction with relevant department to ensure that crew changing is adequate to the project requirements;
• Be conversant with all items and conditions of the project both technically and commercially and to have a full understanding of the scope of work related in individual projects;
• In conjunction with the QHSE Department, ensure all incidents reported by Offshore Crew are investigated/analysed and the findings distributed as appropriate;
• Assist in ensuring that all aspects of Project Administration, Engineering and Operations fulfil the Contract requirements and are conducted in a safe, efficient and profitable manner;
• Be familiar with all aspects of the vessel's future likely rolls in light of construction, ROV support, trenching and burial works;
• Fully adhere, at all times and irrespective of the work place, to Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) policies, procedures and requirements;
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the line manager.

Responsibilities :

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

Higher education in Marine Engineering and Shipping Navigation

Certificate of Competency as Master on vessels over 3000GT

Work experience:

ü Unrestricted DPO Certificate

ü Minimum 5 years of experience as Port Captain for Anchor Handling or Offshore Operations

ü Knowledge of Offshore construction

Knowledge of Languages:

English (fluent), Azerbaijani (fluent), Russian (Fluent)

Other Skills/Certificates Required:

· Knowledge of ISM, ISPS and External Auditing;

· Experience in Marine Operations in Port and offshore;

· Experience in Vessel supply and maintenance;

· Knowledge of Windows Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint);

· Knowledge of the functional requirements of the safety and security management systems and the best practices of the maritime codes.
