Position Overview:
This position involves leading the accounting function, ensuring compliance with local financial, legal and tax regulations, preparing financial reports, and providing valuable insights to management.
The responsibilities of this position in the ever-evolving finance profession includes but are not limited to maintaining accurate financial records, preparing and submitting reports to tax and other government authorities, managing budgets and implementing financial strategies to achieve the organization's goals.
Responsibilities :
Detailed Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Record Keeping:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using our accounting software (1C).
• Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, receipts, sales, and payments.
2. Bank Payments & Bank Reconciliation
3. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with Azerbaijani accounting standards and other regulatory requirements.
• Analyze financial data and present meaningful insights to the management, highlighting trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
4. Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Collaborate with headquarter finance team to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budgetary performance and variance analysis, providing recommendations to enhance financial efficiency.
5. Tax Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with Azerbaijani tax laws
• Oversee the preparation and filing of tax declarations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
6. Auditing:
• Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits.
• Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as required.
7. Financial Management:
• Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for daily operations and investment opportunities.
• Implement financial controls and policies to safeguard the organization's assets.
• Liaise with local banks for smooth operation and building up rapports and relevant authorisation limits and payment flows.
8. Interact with government agencies as required.
Requirements :
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Experience of local accounting processes (5 + years as chief accountant Experience in a trading entity will be considered as an advantage.
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Azerbaijani accounting principles, tax laws.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high levels of accuracy in financial reporting
• Strong English language knowledge (both verbal and written) is a must.
• Professional accounting qualifications is not a prerequisite but will be considered as an advantage.
• Exposure in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) will be considered as an advantage
