Responsibilities :
Static Equipment Roles and Responsibilities
• Assure the implementation, within his competency area, of the applicable laws and standards requirement;
• Execute assigned activities in accordance with the Discipline Work Instruction following the instructions given by the Project Speciality (P.S.) Leader;
• Keep the P.S. Leader informed on the status of activities assigned to him;
• Ensure adequate flow of design information with the other members of the Contract team;
• Perform according to the sharing of the activities established by the P.S. Leader, mechanical design, requisitioning, technical bids evaluation and post order follow-up of Pressure Vessels. Support/perform same activity for static transfer equipment;
• Perform according to the sharing of the activities established by the P.S. Leader, mechanical design, flexibility analysis, requisitioning and technical bid evaluation, post order follow-up of Special Lines;
• Prepare according to the sharing of the activities established by the P.S. Leader, job specifications applicable to a project;
• According to the sharing of the activities established by the P.S. Leader, review of welding procedure specifications, procedure and qualification records, PWHT and forming procedures issued by Suppliers and Subcontractors;
• Assist the design group for preparation and issue of engineering drawings for Pressure Vessels, Storage Tanks, Special Lines, other Special Equipment, platforms and ladders for vessels and tanks. Support/perform same activity in preparing engineering drawings for Static Transfer Equipment, relevant platforms and ladders;
• Review Vendor documents (calculation sheets, welding procedure specifications, valve Drawings, etc.) following the established Work Instruction and assist the design group for checking, control and follow up of vendor drawings as post order activities;
• Compile, update and issue a Vendor’s Document Index;
• Distribute Vendor documentation within the team members and co-ordinate their comments;
• Prepare consolidated comments and return these to the Vendor;
• Correspond with the Vendor on technical matters and ensure that action is taken where necessary;
• Check of design calculations performed by other Speciality Engineers following the established Discipline Work Instruction;
• Keep documents (design calculation sets, material requisition, correspondence, reports, etc.), filed according to the established Discipline Work Instruction;
• Collect noise data from the Vendors of noise emitting items to forward to noise group for their evaluation;
• Observe the ethic of confidentiality on technologies licensed by Clients or Third Parties;
• Implement the Corrective Actions relevant to Department;
• Implement the instructions regarding Health, Safety and Environmental aspects indicated by the appointed functions.
Rotating Equipment Roles and Responsibilities
• Specify and select suitable rotating machinery, as per project requirements;
• Review and verification of equipment supplier’s engineering, as well as the testing and commissioning of equipment;
• Provide specialist engineering support to global projects in a major engineering contractor organization;
• Preparation of Equipment Technical Specifications, such as Specification and Mechanical Data Sheets, for Enquiry;
• Technical evaluation and clarification of supplier bids, for compliance with requisition and applicable standards plus the technical reports to support order placement;
• Preparation of Equipment Technical Specifications for order and estimates for engineering and design manhours;
• Review of Process Data Sheets and Supplier documentation for integration within Project design, such as General Arrangements, Details, Calculations, Fabrication Procedures;
• Project technical support, familiarity with risk assessments, design reviews, constructability, HAZOP, etc.;
• Inspection and construction support as necessary;
• Technical supervision of supplier design and control of supplier interface, plus the co-ordination of interfaces with other engineering disciplines;
• Technical support for installation and commissioning.
Requirements :
Skills & Requirements:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering;
• 10+ years of relevant experience in reputable E&C Companies, serving to O&G industry, preferably in Refining and/or Petrochemicals business;
• Competent with relevant international/local codes and standards such as ASME / ASTM, WRC, API (610-619 Pumps, Compressors and Turbines ), GOST, ISO, TEMA;
• Competent with software commonly used for heat exchangers, such as HTRI Xchanger;
• Experience with software used for pressure vessels, storage tanks such as COMPRESS, TANK, Nozzle-Pro, Solidworks are a plus;
• Good English communication skills;
• Proficient in all Microsoft programs
