ABOUT AZSET
AZSET / AZCON School of Engineering & Technologies is a new engineering and technology education
programme operating as a structural unit of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), in partnership with TUM
International GmbH, the international arm of the Technical University of Munich (TUM). The programme is fully
funded by AZCON Holding, a leading national industrial group. AZSET delivers a Bachelor of Science in
Computer Science entirely in English, combining the rigor of a German research university with an international
curriculum tailored to the technological needs of Azerbaijan. Our inaugural cohort will commence in September
2026
POSITION DETAILS
Position Lecturer in Computer Science

Responsibilities :
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, laboratory sessions and tutorials in one or more of the following
areas: Introduction to Computer Science · Introduction to Computer Architecture · Introduction to Software
Engineering · Introduction to Theoretical Computer Science · Functional Programming and Verification ·
Fundamentals of Algorithms and Data Structures · Fundamentals of Operating Systems and System
Software · Fundamentals of Databases · Fundamentals of Computer Networks and Distributed Systems
· Fundamental Programming Lab · Fundamental Computer Architecture Lab · Discrete Structures ·
Discrete Probability Theory · Numerical Programming · Linear Algebra for Computer Science · Calculus
for Computer Science
– Design course materials, assignments, practical exercises, and project-based assessments aligned with
TUM academic standards
– Conduct rigorous and transparent examinations and provide structured academic feedback to students
– Participate in curriculum development and academic review processes in coordination with TUM
International
– Supervise student projects and provide mentorship through office hours and academic guidance sessions
– Contribute to the research and applied project activities of AZSET in collaboration with industry partners
Requirements :
Essential:
– PhD in Computer Science, Informatics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related
field
– Demonstrated ability to teach at bachelor level with clarity, rigor, and academic depth
– Strong subject-matter expertise in at least two core computer science areas
– Excellent English proficiency all instruction, assessment, and academic communication is conducted in
English
– Ability to design and supervise hands-on programming, laboratory and project-based work
Preferred:
– Prior teaching experience at an internationally recognized university
– Published research record or applied industry research experience
– Familiarity with European (Bologna) academic frameworks
SELECTION PROCESS
The selection follows a rigorous, multi-stage academic procedure aligned with TUM International standards:
– Document review: CV, degree certificates, list of taught courses, teaching evaluations (where available),
and a short teaching statement
– Academic screening: verification of qualifications and subject expertise
– Teaching interview: teaching philosophy, course design, assessment practices, student supervision
– Sample lecture (mandatory): a 30–45 minute lecture in English on a topic relevant to the bachelor
curriculum, delivered before a faculty panel and selected students
