Job Description
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on QA Team Lead to lead the quality assurance of our complex data systems.
This role combines technical leadership, team management, manual exploratory testing and advanced automation. You will take ownership of the overall QA strategy, guide a small team of QA Engineers and remain actively involved in testing complex backend systems, databases and data pipelines.

Responsibilities :
Key Responsibilities
Hands-On End-to-End Testing:
• Design and execute comprehensive manual and automated testing strategies for complex data pipelines, databases, APIs and backend systems.
QA Team Leadership:
• Lead, mentor and support a small team of QA Engineers while remaining actively involved in the team’s daily technical work.
Advanced Automation:
• Build, maintain and scale robust automation frameworks using Python, Java or TypeScript, with a strong focus on data validation and system integration.
Data Quality and Integrity:
• Use SQL and other tools to validate data accuracy, consistency and completeness across relational and non-relational databases.
Test Planning and Ownership:
• Define testing priorities, distribute tasks, review test coverage and ensure the team delivers high-quality results.
Defect Investigation:
• Investigate complex defects, perform root-cause analysis and work closely with developers and data engineers to resolve issues.
QA Processes and Best Practices:
• Establish and improve QA methodologies, testing standards, documentation and automation practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Partner closely with Data Engineers, Developers and Product Managers to identify risks, uncover edge cases and ensure seamless data flow.
Requirements :
Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in QA engineering, including hands-on testing of complex data systems, ETL pipelines, APIs or large-scale backend architectures.
Team Leadership:
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or coordinating QA Engineers while continuing to work in a hands-on technical capacity.
Automation Expertise:
• Strong experience building and maintaining automation frameworks and working with tools such as Selenium, Playwright, RestAssured or Postman.
Data Expertise:
• Strong SQL skills and proven experience validating data integrity across relational or non-relational databases.
Manual Testing:
• Strong experience in exploratory, integration, regression and end-to-end testing.
Technical Problem-Solving:
• The ability to investigate complex backend issues, understand system integrations and perform detailed root-cause analysis.
Hands-On Leadership Style:
• A leader who works alongside the team, takes ownership of challenging testing tasks and remains actively involved in automation and quality assurance.
Communication:
• Full professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
