Job Description

Team: Quality Engineering · Stack: TypeScript, Playwright, Node.js · Reports to: Engineering Manager

About the role You will lead and evolve the end-to-end testing phase for a major product in Cywareness, including testing strategy, plans, automations and user experience with an AI first approach.

Responsibilities :

What you'll do
●Be the number 1 user of the product
●Manage the entire QA phase, including manual and automation testing
●Build an AI agents testing architecture
●Own the automation framework. Maintain and extend a layered architecture (locators / page objects/ API clients / test helpers) with strict separation of concerns, and keep the written framework rulescurrent as the platform grows.
●Build full-stack test coverage. Author UI E2E flows and headless API tests against a coveragematrix.
●Guard the API contract. Maintain zod schema validation against raw wire responses and OpenAPIsnapshot/drift detection so backend contract changes are caught automatically, not in production.
●Design multi-phase, time-dependent pipelines. Own long-running E2E flows that span multiple CIjobs, persist state between phases, and tolerate backend processing lag without flaking.
●Own CI/CD for quality. Maintain GitHub Actions workflows.
●Be the quality gate in AQA code review.
●Collaborate across engineering. File and track backend defects, flag spec-vs-runtime contractmismatches, and own data-testid conventions with frontend engineers to keep selectors stable.
●Mentor. Set patterns, review test code, and raise the QA bar for the wider team.
●Build agent-based testing infrastructure to leverage AI for complex test scenario automation.
●Actively leverage AI tools in daily engineering workflows to accelerate test script generation, datacreation, and code analysis.

Requirements :

Must-have qualifications
●5+ years in test automation, with significant experience building a framework from the ground up(not just adding tests to one).
●Strong TypeScript/JavaScript — comfortable with generics, async patterns, fixtures, and writingreusable abstractions, not just imperative test scripts.
●Deep Playwright expertise (or equivalent modern framework - Cypress/WebdriverIO - withwillingness to adopt Playwright): fixtures, projects, parallelism, auth/storage state, tracing.
● Proven API test automation: typed HTTP clients, status/negative-case testing, and contract/schema validation.
● Solid grasp of REST, HTTP semantics, and OpenAPI/Swagger - able to read a spec, spot when it lies about the running backend, and design tests from it.
● Hands-on CI/CD ownership (GitHub Actions or similar): pipelines, cron schedules, artifacts, secrets, environment configuration.
● Rigorous test-design discipline: thinks in equivalence classes, boundary/negative cases, lifecycle and cross-resource invariants - and knows what not to test.

Nice-to-have
● Test reporting/observability platforms (Allure TestOps), flake triage at scale.
● Email/MFA/2FA and reCAPTCHA-gated flow testing.
● Test data factories and fixtures-as-code patterns.
● Domain exposure to security awareness / phishing simulation, RBAC/multi-tenant systems.
● Performance or contract-drift tooling beyond functional tests.
● Experience with AI-assisted development tools and a strong interest in evolving testing processes through emerging AI capabilities.
