Job Description

Responsibilities :

Leads the Government and Public Affairs function of the Oil and Gas Company and Company’s assets reporting to General Manager. Plans and executes a comprehensive, public affairs strategy that is aligned with company mission and goals with community, government, media, business and industry. Serves as the key spokesperson to media.
Manage government relations for the company and its assets. Establish and maintain contact with certain government bodies
Manage public relations for company and its assets. Plan external audience special events for the company. Provide guidance and support to departments planning events and other public relations activities. Represent the company at public events, press conferences and meetings
Manage media relations for the company and implement a strategic media relations campaign to ensure a positive public image
Conduct both internal and external communications. Internal stakeholders – executive team, functional leaders, assets; external stakeholders – government offices, media, community.
Represent the company at industry forums and other events
Participate in the preparation of a variety of in-house reports and publications such as the monthly news, Company handbooks, brochures, employee booklets, etc. including collecting information from various departments and preparing a draft for the Manager’s review 
Coordinate arrangements for the Company visitors such as media representatives, business executives and Government Officials
Coordinate the planning of programs for special events institutional and corporate such as the distribution of Company gifts to communities, employees and participation in special events
Prepare materials and posters for exhibitions purposes and represent the Company in such events
Represent the Company in outside activities sponsors by other business organizations, government authorities, Company employees, etc.
Work closely with Security Director on social issues
Supervise technical/support staff, employees and independent contractors
Perform all or some of the responsibilities above and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements :


Bachelor’s degree in journalism, political science, marketing, public relations, communications or related field
10+ years of experience in relevant field.


Knowledge of media, government and public relations principles and practices
Demonstrated skills in managing and coordinating special projects
Effective communication with all levels of management, staff and external individuals and groups, including government officials and representatives of the media
Knowledge of regulations and standards on local labor procedures and the application of the same to the petroleum industry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiar with media outlets and platforms
Strong public speaking skills
Excellent command of Azerbaijani, English and Russian languages.
